Preparing for Your Facial: A Guide to Optimal Results

Facials are not just a pampering treat; they're an essential part of maintaining healthy, radiant skin. At Luma Dermatology, our skilled esthetician, Kacey Feeney, offers a range of specialized facial treatments designed to rejuvenate and refresh your complexion. To make the most of your experience, it's important to prepare your skin properly beforehand. In this blog post, we'll guide you through a pre-facial care routine, the day-of facial protocol, and how to maintain that post-facial glow.

Pre-Facial Face Care Protocol

Before Your Facial Appointment:

Gentle Cleansing: Cleansing your face with a mild, non-comedogenic cleanser removes dirt and excess oils, creating a clean canvas for the treatment. Harsh exfoliation or abrasive scrubs are avoided to prevent unnecessary irritation..

Avoid Harsh Products: Refrain from using any harsh skincare products, such as strong acids or retinoids. Opt for gentle, hydrating products instead.

Exfoliation (Optional): If you wish to exfoliate, use a gentle exfoliator suitable for your skin type. Avoid aggressive scrubbing.

Avoid Sun Exposure: Minimize sun exposure and wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher if you need to go outside.
